Chalmers’ Student Union’s Red-Tarred Country House

Not all student unions can claim to have a “house in the country”. But in Härryda, just outside Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology has received a newly designed, red-tarred student centre with a sea view surrounded by beautiful pine trees. The building, which spans 495 m2, is referred to as “The Big Cabin” and is a place for holding meetings, socialising and having parties in a picturesque and idyllic environment. The centre also has a sauna and a chalet dating to the 1960s. Construction on the student centre was completed in 2016, and is a result of generous contributions and donations from private individuals, organisations and companies. The Gothenburg-based architectural firm Inobi was the talent behind this beautiful building.
