Exclusive accommodation in Tuvesvik, Orust

On Tuvesvik’s cliffs, eight smaller wooden residential units have been carefully placed with wide views of cliffs and the sea. The houses are placed close to each other in the same way as villas, boathouses and warehouses are in Bohuslän. Narrow alleys for the idea of the fishing village where the houses are connected to pleasant units with strong togetherness and large presence.

The houses are built mostly of wood, similar to the Bohuslän building tradition. The buildings are clad with standing gray tar-treated wood panels that make them blend into the rugged rocky landscape.

– The exposed location towards the sea placed high demands on materials and the design and choice of surface treatment of the wood was a challenge. We did several investigations and looked at several projects to find the perfect treatment. Both from a design point of view but also in terms of sustainability and maintenance.

-The choice ultimately fell on Auson Vitriol Pine Tar because with that product we managed to get a natural and even gray color that also emphasizes the wood’s natural structure. The natural wood protection with pine tar was a great advantage, which means good wood protection and longer maintenance intervals for the customer.
