Pine tar
Red tarred house with white knots
In Säve outside Gothenburg, with cow pastures around the corner and with only 5 km to the sea is this beautiful house located, painted in traditional red with white knots.
House and garage were built in 2004, the current owner Magnus and his family moved in in 2008, they soon realized that they had problems with the south gable which they had to repaint with distemper paint every two years.
They started looking for a product that could be painted with on the red distemper paint and with a similar look. Through the jungle drum, they got in touch with an acquaintance who knew that there was Red Pine Tar that would work as desired.
Magnus says that it took two weeks to paint the house and that he is most satisfied with the appearance and that Red Pine Tar adheres so well to the distemper paint.
He goes on to say that the comments he has received on the house since the painting are positive, first “what is that smell” and then “how nice it will be”!
Which we absolutely agree with, a real “Swedish idyll”!
